Role: Business Development Representative (BDR)

Reports to:  Sales Manager

The focus of this role is to actively seek and develop meaningful relationships with contacts reached outside of BELAY’s circle of digital marketing influence with the end result of generating net new business for BELAY. The Business Development Representative (BDR) enjoys networking, meeting new people and is passionate about sharing how BELAY can help our prospects climb higher with our services. Our BDRs are meta-performers, results-driven and hungry to meet and exceed BELAY’s goals. You are expected to demonstrate responsiveness, professionalism, own the details, be organizationally savvy, and conduct relational and consultative selling at all times. 

 

As a member of the BELAY Corporate Team, you are expected to participate in phone calls and meetings (virtual and onsite), while serving as an example of the company’s mission: BELAY exists to glorify God by providing solutions that equip our clients with the confidence to climb higher.

  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of BELAY’s services and comfortably conduct consultative sales calls.  

2. Networking and lead generation

  • Attend conferences & networking events to build relationships and to hunt leads. 
    • Identify networking events that hold prime targets.
    • Represent the company while creating new business opportunities during these events. 
    • Collect leads to enter into CRM and nurture to close. 

3. Business Development 

  • Build and maintain a healthy funnel of sales opportunities to meet set quotas.  
    • Generate leads and opportunities from target accounts you have developed.
    • Secure discovery meetings and initial sales call with target prospects.
    • Follow-up on leads generated from marketing efforts to build your funnel. 
    • Apply an organized and systematic approach to your sales process, including research, and meeting preparation.
    • Utilize Socratic selling methods (effectively probe, uncover issues, articulate value, flesh out objections, define next steps, etc.) to educate prospects about delegation and how BELAY can elevate their success. Cast vision for prospect success with our support.  
    • Follow up with prospects to keep engagement high and in a relationship. Stay close and find ways to continually invest throughout the sales process.
    • Collaborate with internal BELAY team(s) to identify new opportunities and create roadmaps for future business and secure that business.
    • Review target prospects with leadership including analysis, commitments, and other required reporting.
    • Stay current on trending topics, literature and developments in the staffing industry.

4. Role Operations & Expectations 

  • Proficient with a cloud-based CRM (Salesforce preferred) and update daily activity, reporting, and deal status.  
  • Set schedules and manage time effectively and efficiently.  Own your calendar, activities, and tracking and be able to speak to it with leadership.
  • Be tech-savvy and proficient in the tools necessary to integrate into BELAY’s remote workplace culture.
  • Share information and best practices to position BELAY as the trusted advisor and partner to do business with. 

 Criteria Includes:

  • Must have experience, contacts, and understanding of sales and service in a services-based organization. Consultative sales experience is a plus! 

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • Must be driven self-starter, a positive thinker, loyal and trustworthy.

  • Proven track record of strategic networking and can articulate personal networking philosophy.

  • Attributes of flexibility, creativity, self-discipline, strong organizational skills, and action-orientation are essential for this role, as the position offers a significant amount of responsibility with accountability for results.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Team player who is willing and able to “roll-up the shirt sleeves” to get a project done when needed.

  • A high degree of autonomy with the capability of working remotely. 

  • Ability to travel as necessary (local required weekly,  long-distance as necessary).

  • Potential to grow in responsibility as the Company grows.
